Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good-. First Edition. SIGNED (in printed form) by illustrator Nick Eggenhofer on the title page. The volume is lightly bumped on the spine ends, and there are a couple of light stray marks on the spine. The price clipped dust jacket, sleeved in mylar, is lightly chipped at the spine ends, rubbed along the joints, and has four closed tears (two with creasing on the top front edge). The jacket is also wrapped slightly off center to the spine. This book is a wonderful testament to the Texas spirit, with true tales and maybe some minor exaggerations. EXAMPLES: "One Texas lass, just to keep trim, used to walk five miles every morning on a barbed wire fence with a wildcat under each arm". "'Eyewitnesses' have testified that they saw Wild Bill at 30 paces draw a six-shooter, and without sighting, drive the cork into a bottle, the bullet going through the bottom of the bottle without smashing it; throw a dime into the air and pierce it with a bullet; hit fence and telegraph wires at every shot while riding full speed". A delightful read. Signed.
