A biography of Thomas Telford [ 1757 - 1834 ] the Scottish civil engineer, he was dubbed The Colossus of Roads such was his command of civil engineering projects. 550 grams.

A classic account of a journey through the waterways of Southern Ireland, over the broad Shannon from the upper limit of navigation at the little village of Battlebridge, near Leitrim, down to Lough Derg. Then by canal across the Bog of Allen to the docks of Dublin, returning to the Shannon by yet another waterway. This third edition has a foreword by Ruth Delany. Photographs by Angela Rolt.
