Contains black and white illustrations throughout. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning. Slipcase has light edgewear with minor marking to panels. Some rubbing to surfaces.

James Woodforde's diaries. The work was selected and edited by John Beresford. James Woodforde was a clergyman and author, whose seminal work 'The Diary of a Country Parson', was published posthumously. The value of the Diary to the historian lies in the wealth of primary source material it provides, while the general reader can bring from it the authentic flavour of eighteenth century English country life. In a full cloth binding, with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally smart. Mild bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Light patches of rubbing to the joints and boards.
