(1792), 8 pp. Etat très satisfaisant (fente partielle au dos, bon état par ailleurs). Martin & Walter, 27058. Pétion, avocat originaire de Chartres, fut maire de Paris en 1791 et 1792, puis devint député d'Eure-et-Loir à la Convention, dont il fut le premier président. En 1793, il sera arrêté, avec les Girondins, parviendra à s'évader, mais se suicidera près de Libourne (Gironde), pour éviter d'être repris. Langue: Français.

Prima edizione in lingua italiana dell'appassionata allocuzione tenuta alla Convenzione Nazionale dal noto politico, rivoluzionario e avvocato Pethion de Villeneuve (Chartres, 1753-Saint-Émilion, 1794). Eletto il 20 marzo 1789 primo deputato del terzo stato di Chartres agli Stati Generali, il 5 settembre 1792 divenne deputato dell'Eure-et-Loir alla Convenzione Nazionale, di cui assunse a breve la presidenza; egli ruppe con Robespierre e passò dalle file dei Giacobini a quelle dei Girondini, votando per la sospensione della condanna a morte di Luigi XVI e contro il processo a Marat. Nel giugno del 1793, con l'inasprirsi del Terrore, venne emanato contro di lui un mandato di cattura che lo portò a fuggire e a trovare la morte, suicida in un campo di grano nei pressi di Saint-Émilion insieme con il Buzot e col Barbaroux. Il s'était déjà intéressé aux questions relatives au droit de la famille avant la Révolution.
