Thomas Edward Lawrence, dit Lawrence d'Arabie (1888-1935), El Aurens, est la vedette du film de David Lean sorti en 1962 avec Peter O'Toole dans le rôle principal. Cette matrice fut utilisée pour l'édition du masque sorti avec le film, en produit dérivé, sur le modèle de la figure de l'acteur Peter O'Toole. Le film remporta un immense succès et reçu 7 Oscars. L'action se situe lors de la première Guerre Mondiale menée par l'officier de liaison britannique Thomas Edward Lawrence qui encourage et soutient la révolte arabe contre les turcs de l'Empire Ottoman afin de fonder une nation arabe indépendante moderne. Ce récit et ses mémoires furent publiées sous le titre "Les sept piliers de la sagesse".
