Condition: Fair. 1897. 488 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Vol. II. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Front hinge is disbound. Hinges are cracked, with some exposed netting and a loose binding. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed.

Pages are moderately tanned with noticeable foxing throughout. Cracks to hinges, exposing netting. Binding is loose causing pages to be shaky. Pencil inscriptions with small gift aid label to front endpapers. Thumb-marking present throughout. Boards have visible edge wear with corner bumping. Moderate tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Fraying with small splits to spine edges. Book is slightly bowed and forward leaning. Faint black marks overall.
