This edition is one of the few Modern Library titles which has no bibliographic or copyright date. The introductory text to the adverts at the rear refers to it being two years since the first books in the series, implying 1919, the same year the Brodzky end-papers were introduced. The printed text is very sharp implying a first or early edition (printing plates wear down and become slightly but noticeably fuzzy with subsequent printings) CONDITION: A well preserved clean and tight VERY GOOD+ copy (few spots of slight shelf rub to cover edges, pages moderately tanned, tiny chip to top corner tip of rear blank leaf.
