First published in 1955 the copy offered by us is a 1978 reprint of the Revised and Enlarged Edition of 1972 in collectible condition but lacking it's slip case. Near Fine/Near Fine (Book- Red staining to top edge of book block slightly faded else Fine with no previous owner name or insc. Dust Jacket- clipped but with F Warne replacement price sticker - cover£8.95 affixed. A little discolouration to top margins of flap folds from ingression of dust on the shelf. Else fine with no nicks tears or rubbing and supplied in a removable proprietary protective sleeve. Please see our images of the actual book offered for sale. The book starts with an Appreciation by Anne Carroll Moore who points out that by selection and skillful arrangement of the pictures, using unpublished sources as well as original drawings, a new dimension has been given to the work of Beatrix Potter. The size of the book in inches is: 9.25 x 7.1. Numbered pages run to 406, with almost the last 200 pages handed over for illustrations.
