It is difficult to capture the precise combination of colour and tone which accurately renders the lustre of gold, the dull solidity of iron or the gleaming reflectiveness of chrome.[This book] provides exact identification of the qualities of a variety of metals and metallic surfaces through a series of exercises which allow a direct comparison of colour, tone and texture applied to produce the characteristic appearance of different metals."--dustjacket ; Writer and quilt maker Judy Martin graduated from the University of California in 1969. From 1979 to 1987, Martin contributed articles and designs to Quilter's Newsletter Magazine and Quilter. In 1987, Martin and her husband Steve started their own publishing company, Crosley-Griffith.
