Large thick 8°, modern cloth, (xii), [2], c.[495], [470]pp. of Javanese script.["VBG, XLIII-XLIV."] Three Lakon's in Javanese script, not transcribed, of plays of the Wayang Purwa, including stage-directions, such as the melodies to be played, the suluk, the manipulation of the puppets, the dialogues and so forth. The three plays are:: Kata Wiyoga; 2: Jaladara Rabi; 3: Alap Alapan Surtikanji. They are the more elaborate versions of the plays numbered 13, 14 and 15 of the twenty-three plays edited earlier, although Kanta Woyoga in that edn. is called Semar Jantur. In the preface by H. Kern some stanzas are given of the old javanese poem Bharatarayuddha as an example of the corruption lf the text of the Suluk in these plays. Vol. 2 covers the text of 3 complete plays, in javanese script of the javanese Wayang Purwa theatre being the more elaborate version of the number 16, 17 and23 of those edited by Te Mechelen.(vol. 1).(See: Groenendael, Wayang Theatre.op.cit.).
