Uncommon work with pretty illustrations based on the Petrarca Trionfi. The outstanding engraved title with cherubs and satyrs, the arms of the dedicatee Michele della Torre above, and the printer's device below. The author Pagani (1526-1589; born as Marco, assumed name Antonio) lived in Venice and belonged to the Barnabites. He had published some of these here collected and enlarged poems between 1554 and 1557 under his given name. - This copy with 12 preliminary leaves signed a, b, a - apparently there are copies with less leaves at the beginning. - Minor browning, few leaves with light waterstains but mostly quite clean, modern binding.
