Mit dem gestochenen Kupfertitel nach Charles Eisen gestochen von Emmanuel de Ghendt sowie weiteren 4 Kupfertafeln nach Gabriel de Saint-Aubin, gestochen von Jean Massard. Das Vorwort stammt von Charles de Lafont de Savine. Eine Tafel ist gänzlich ohne Bildlegende, die weiteren sind in der Platte signiert, zwei davon datiert auf das Jahr 1765. Mit dem goldgeprägten Frontispiz auf rotem Untergrund des Bibliophilen Victor Léon Rattier. Einband geringfügig berieben mit Schabstellen an der Stehkante, Ecken leicht bestoßen, der 6 Seiten starke Schlussteil ("Le soleil fixe"), Seiten 101-104 falsch eingebunden, Kupfertafeln vollständig, allerdings in falscher Reihenfolge und an variierten Stellen eingebunden, eine der Kupfertafeln als Frontispiz eingebunden, auf späteres Papier montiert und im unteren Rand knapp beschnitten (Textverlust in den Plattensignaturen), Seiten stellenweise leicht und zumeist sehr blass stockfleckig, ansonsten sehr gutes Exemplar mit in schönem, kräftigem Abdruck erhaltenen Kupferstichen. First edition. French language edition. Green half leather binding of the times with five raised bands, spine with gilt embossed title and rich floral book decoration, covers with gilt embossed fillets, gilt top edge and marbled endpapers. With the copper engraved title page after Charles Eisen by Emmanuel de Ghendt as well as 4 copper engraved plates after Gabriel de Saint-Aubin by Jean Massard. Foreword by Charles de Lafont de Savine. One plate without capture, the other ones signed in the plate, two of them dated 1765. With the gilt embossed red bookplate of the French bibliophile Victor Léon Rattier. Binding only slightly rubbed, bottom edge a little chipped, corners lightly bumped, one of the copper plates trimmed (with textloss to the signature), mounted on later paper and bound as frontispiece, copper engravings complete but bound in varied order, pages partially with light foxing, otherwise fine copy with copper engravings in strong impressions.
