Original dust jacket is in VG+ condition with some creasing and wear to right fore edges. This is the foremost reference handbook for those interested in the life of author Lewis Caroll. Lewis Caroll was a pen name for Charles Ludwidge Dawson, the author of Alice in Wonderland. This book was originally published in 1938, and this revised edition contains updated articles and newly reprinted material about the author while still remaining faithful to the valuable information of prior printings.

Many full page photos and examples of highlight books through the centuries printed at Oxford. There is a rare full page photo of Amen Corner in London, the interior of the bindery and other parts of the printing works. the home of many fabulous books printed in the 15th-19th centuries all gone in the Blitz of 1940 and never re-built. Plain navy cloth with gilt titles on cover and spine. Slim small quarto. *Printed anonymously, but feel the printer at the time Humphrey Milford a long time servant and controller was the main compiler although he does acknowledge Mr Falconer Madan the American bibliophile and collector of being responsible for much in here. The book was published in 1922 and covered the years up to 1921. This 1926 issue a 2nd edition continues up to the years 1926, so extended and revised.
