A FIRST EDITION, First Printing, from 1969, this hardcover small 4to has gray & white cloth over boards, lettered in black to front & spine, with an image of 30masted schooner to front; design replicated on DJ. the book is in Near Fine condition: completely clean, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with a hint of tanning, but unmarked. The unclipped DJ is just Fair, downgraded due to missing sections (chips, holes) at bottom & top edges from insect damage; nicely preserved now in new clear mylar cover. Hardcover book has green patterned cloth over boards with a 1/8th red cloth wrapped spine, decorative design to front & gilt lettering to spine. Condition is VG: exceptionally clean, binding straight & strong, pages just slightly off-white, colors bright. Endpapers partially tanned. Slight rubbing to all extremities, foxing to top outside page edges. The unclipped DJ is Good+ /VG- bright & colorful, but marred by some small-medium chips along spine-front cover interface & rubbing to extremities. Nicely protected in new mylar cover free!
