Un timbro di bibl. estinta al front., qualche traccia di umidità, ma es. a grandi margini intonsi. (10359) Edizione priva di indicazioni tipografiche, impressa nella prima metà del XVIII secolo, di questa dissertazioine apparsa per la prima volta a Parigi nel 1674 e scritta su istanza del cardinale Bona. Il grande erudito benedettino Jean Mabillon (1632-1707) sostiene che il pane azimo non lievitato era stato usato nella Chiesa Latina prima di Fozio, contrariamente a quanto aveva asserito il padre Sirmond in una sua precedente dissertazione ritenendo che in precedenza fosse usato solo il pane lievitato. In appendice è riportato uno scritto del vescovo spagnolo Eldefonso (o Ildefonso), sul tema "de pondere, & forma, & mensura" del Pane Eucaristico, con diverse piccole xilografie che lo illustrano. (8372) Versione latina di quest'opera pregevole e di grande erudizione bibliografica dell'illustre padre benedettino della congregazione di Saint-Maur, dom Jean Mabillon (1632-1707); essa apparve originariamente nel 1691-2, e poi ampliata nelle successive edizioni. In essa il Mabillon, forte della sua erudizione in campo paleografico e diplomatico, vi sostenne l'importanza degli studi monastici (di cui offre un piano di studi), da praticarsi accanto agli altri doveri della vita monastica, e del ruolo importante che in passato ebbero ed ancora avevano i monasteri nella conservazione e nella trasmissione di manoscritti e di importanti patrimoni bibliografici, mentre alcuni avversari del Mabillon affermavano che lo studio veniva addirittura ad alimentare le eresie. Qui sono riportate le controversie con Armand Buthilier de Rancé de la Trappe, in cui il Mabillon dovette prendere le difese dell'Ordine Benedettino.
