Hardcover. Condition: Very Good+. #445 of 500. 211 pages, some black & white illustration. The author has recorded many experiences, first, as a boy; second, as a young man; third, as a hunter of big game with Major J. H. Lord and General Crook's party; fourth, as a member of General Sheridan's party through Wyoming and the Yellowstone National Park; fifth, regarding association with the Indians when the author acted as interpreter; sixth, as a leader of a party of four visiting Yellowstone Park and the Snake River. One of the great highlights of the book is that Tracy experienced and described the massive 1884 eruption of the Excelsior Geyser. It is, I believe, the only first hand experience that we have on record. The author states that he would hesitate to write about the experience so many years after the fact save but he had a copy of his letter sent to his mother at the time. The book was issued without a dust jacket but to preserve the work it has been placed in an archival quality Brodart clear cover. There is a touch of wear at the base of the spine and at corners. Ffep has some tiny numbers and letters in the upper outer area of the page. The dedication page of the book states "This Book is Number 415/ and is presented to/ Mr. Win L. Partner/Russel Lord Tracy". A highly collectible copy! Available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box. Signed By the Author.
