Written by a barrister of Lincoln's Inn, this was one of the pre-eminent 19th century treatises on the law of mortgage. Holdsworth held it is high regard and discusses it at length. Still in print as Fisher and Lightwood's Law of Mortgage, it reached a 15th edition in 2019. Levy [1805-1870] was a prominent Irish barrister and legal writer. While living at 20 Holles Street, he edited a notable collection of documents concerning Home Rule. The first edition is uncommon.
