Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. This 20-page stapled pamphlet is in Near Fine unread condition. Original wraps, no jacket. Internal pages have mellow yellowed with age. The front cover has an original price tag and a white dot (purpose unknown) whose glue residue has stained the verso. Staples are not rusted. This essay, it is thought, first appeared in 1949 in 20th Century: An Australian Quarterly. It has been reprinted in various books of essays.? This is the first printing of this title in this format as a stand-alone piece. A very nice copy indeed of a Scarce Lewis essay.
