Penguin paperpack 96p. ill oroginal 1st 1941 edition. Verty godd condition for age. he Home Guard has been mobilised to defend against airborne assault and it needs training. Yank Levy is brought in to Osterley Park to teach guerrilla warfare, from practical experience in the Spanish Civil War. Yank trains soldiers of the Home Guard how to use surveillance, defend against tanks and armoured vehicles, how to fight in towns and across country and against a well-supplied, highly-trained and mobile occupying force. His book, Guerrilla Warfare offers such sound advice as: Whether you go to a tea-party or to work on your allotment take your rifle with you. Don t leave it downstairs for a German to grab if he enters the house.

Softcover. Condition: Very Good Plus. This beautiful vintage 1942 item is in very good plus condition. A paperback softcover, but the cover is in un-compromised condition with some penciled words on the front now rubbed almost to obscurity and an apparent University of California bookstore sticker for 25 cents still affixed to the rear cover. The interior is in all but fine presentation with no real condition issues to mention. Some person, probably in early 1942, has read the book, made a four-page extract from the book, detailing the essential points that apply to west coast residents. This four-page extract talks about the possibilities of invasion to the American homeland and is laid-in to the book. This unique and fascinating item was first published three months after Pearl Harbor. This second printing comes from April 1942. It presents to the American public the possible prospects for having to fight within the United States after an invasion by a foreign power. 119 pages.

It was as a staff member at the Osterly School of the British Home Guard, during the period when Britain anticipated an early invasion by Nazi forces, that Levy wrote GUERRILLA WARFARE in order to give practical advice for neophyte guerrillas. Among the topics he covers in detail are sabotage, ambushes, demolition, scouting, stalking, street fighting and anti-tank tactics. The book is accompanied by a 1964 Panther Publications Guerrilla Warfare Book List. **The book is in very good condition with light tanning while the jacket has several very small tears.**.

Israeli Lebanese Conflict: [Guerrilla Warfare] An usual translation of a popular book Guerrilla Warfare by a Canadian author of Jewish origins printed in Arabic language in the time of the Israeli Lebanese conflict - One of the first manuals on close combats, knife fighting and hand-to-hand combat was written during WWII in England by a Canadian military lecturer "Yank" Levy. Originally written to fight the Fascism, it was soon translated to other languages and employed in various conflicts worldwide. This translation in Arabic language was printed in 1968 in Beirut in the time of uprising tensions between Israel and Lebanon.
