First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. First edition, first printing. Soft cover. Printed wrappers (spiral bound); no dust jacket as issued. Photographs by David Levinthal. Essay by Lucinda Barnes. Includes a catalogue of the exhibition, a chronology and selected bibliography. Unpaginated (20 pp.), with 5 four-color plates. 8-1/2 x 7 inches. Published on the occasion of an exhibition at the University Art Museum, California State University Long Beach. Near Fine (overall toning to the wrappers, else Fine). From Lucinda Barnes: "In his most recent body of work -- the subject of this exhibition -- Levinthal has turned to the typecasting of yet another movie genre: the space age. His perspective is decidedly anachronistic. Using vintage models and toy sets, he invades the temporal frame of War of the Worlds. The dated appearance particularly engages these images. The naive, almost utopian view of the outer reaches of our universe sharpens Levinthal's fantastic inflection.".
