Rilegato. Condition: Perfetto. 2 voll. in-8 (205x120 mm.), pp. (2), XLVII, 315, (1); (2), 324, (1). 1 grande tav. più volte rifinita all'acquarello incisa da J.B. Tardie raffigurante la mappa di Porto Rico, (questa mappa è la versione aggiornata di quella originale da parete di Lopez de Vargas Machuca's). Elegante legatura coeva in mez. pelle con fregi al dorso di gusto "impero". Ottima copia. Edizione originale di questo viaggio del naturalista francese André Ledrou (1761-1825) nelle isole Vergini, a Tenerife e Porto Rico, condotto sotto la direzione del capitano Baudin. Il viaggio si rivelò un grande successo scientifico, potendosi nel corso della spedizione collettare una grande quantità di campioni geologici, faunistici, botanici e fossili. Questa importante opera è stata tradotta in tedesco nel 1814. Una traduzione spagnola relativa alla sola parte che riguarda Porto Rico è stata fatta più recentemente da Julio L. Vizcarrondo (1863).
