Title page not dated. Copyright page dated 1941. 222 pages. Signed "Kip" (with inscription) on front free endpaper -- Kip was the nickname of Shepard, from the musical hall term giddy kipper meaning someone who was excitable. Shepard is most well known for his illustrations in The Wind in the Willows and Winnie the Pooh. Many illustrations throughout, ranging in size from marginal to full page. A good copy.
