Paperback. Condition: Very Good. Trade PB. 4to. Published by Cleveland Museum of Art with Indiana University Press, Bloomington, IN. 1992 476 pgs. Illustrated. Wrappers lightly worn with some light shelf-wear to the extremities present. Book is free of ownership marks. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Very good book about one of the most important Pharaohs of all time. Amenhotep III ( (A3) was the father of Akhenaten (A4) and husband of Queen Tiye which were the major forces in the religious reformation of the Aten, Re-Horakhte first monotheistic worship. People forget that A3 had plenty of Atenistic imagery in his monuments etc. And that his principal wife Queen Tiye was a co-regent with him, her brothers were both Ay, future Atenist Pharaoh, "Divine Father" and Aanen high priest of Re-Amun. It's speculated that Tutankhamen(originally Tutankh-ATEN) was also one of her sons and thus brother to A4. The religious strife in this dynasty is comparable to the Protestant Reformation but was stamped out successfully. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 476 pages.
