The top of the pages is gilt which is clean and bright. The outside of the pages are deckled. Just a touch of wear at the tail of the spine and at corners. 379 pages, including an index and an appendix. Lakeside Classic #53. There is a frontis photograph of General Crook and eight additional photos all with tissue guards that are clean and not torn. There is a facsimile of the original title page from the first edition of the book published in 1890. The historical introduction to the current edition is by the renowed historian Milo Milton Quaife. The volume itself is protected in an archival quality clear cover which was placed on the work many years ago which is easily removable if desired. A quite nice copy, available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.
