PO's inscription on front endpaper, 1/2" x 1/8" scuff at top of back cover, and lightly rubbed surface. Interior is unmarked and securely bound. A Chinese magistrate in the Qing Dynasty witnesses a bully in action who blames a rock for his victim's predicament. The wise magistrate proceeds to put the rock on trial, with surprising consequences for the bully and his cohorts. Zheng Bianqiao was a celebrated writer, painter, and calligrapher as well as a magistrate. 22 pages, with beautiful watercolors on every page.
