He then published it as Addressing the Custer Story (O'Keefe #1533), expanding it into this book in 1981. Includes remarkable letter from Jesse Lee to Elizabeth Custer in which Lee admits that at the time Of the Reno Court (January 1879(, he was "influenced by the prejudicial opinions of those whose motives I did not then understand." Lee expresses regret that he did not see through the prejudice, jealousies and lies of those who testified against Custer in order to condeal their not having followed his orders.
