Published by London: Printed for the Proprietors, under the Direction of John Bell, British Library, Strand, Bookseller to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, 1791
Seller: Riverby Books, Fredericksburg, VA, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Good. Four plays adapted for theatrical representation, each with special title page, engraved general title page representing a scene from the play, and frontispiece showing an actor in a leading part. Hardcover. Full leather binding with gold lettering on spine and a decorative gold border stamped on covers. Title pages dated 1791. Each section has own pagination. Binding is strong but leather is dry and scuffed, with thin cracks showing at hinges and corners worn and rounded. Much of the gold stamping on the spine is worn -- the red label is mostly gone, and there is a chip out of the black label bearing the names of the plays. Boards firmly attached. Pages clean and unmarked. Overall, a good copy of this collection of English drama published by John Bell.
