Book First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. Hilda T Miller and Lilian A Govey (illustrator). 1st Edition. A rare and collectible children's book by W H Koebel, published in 1922, 125 pages, very nicely illustrated. In the Royal Road Library series. Nine full-page illustrations per the list thereof, of which five are in colour. Many other smaller illustrations decorating the text. Text itself divided into 12 chapters. Essentially poor condition though extremely readable as text pages and all illustrations are in good, sometimes very good, condition. Coloured picture on front cover, which is same as coloured frontispiece, also good. Covers in general in fair condition: some bumping at spine and at corners, a few marks esp on rear, some noticeable wear. End papers are illustrated but both front and rear free end papers are badly foxed. Gift dedication, dated 1929, on ffep. Some foxing on first few and last few pages, diminishing gradually towards centre of the book though the merest inclination thereto always there. Some tears affecting pages 71-74.
