Condition: Fine. - Over 38 words typed on 8 inch high by 5 inch wide "Rupert Hart-Davis Limited" stationery with the firm's pictorial logo of a fox printed in brown at top. In his note Hart-Davis thanks Bruce Kellner for his letter and encourages him to visit: "I will be delighted to see you, so do ring me up when you are in London". Signed "Rupert Hart-Davis. Folded for mailing, else fine. The English publisher and editor Sir Rupert Charles Hart-Davis (1907-1999) founded the publishing company Rupert Hart-Davis Limited in 1946. Praised for the quality of its publications, the firm eventually lost money as Hart-Davis refused to cater to the public taste and he was forced to relinquish control of the company. Hart-Davis went on to author the biography Hugh Walpole and edited the "Collected Letters of Oscar Wilde" as well as the "Lyttelton/Hart Davis Letters".
