A compilation of articles and nature-notes originally contributed pseudonymously by Lilias Rider Haggard to the 'Eastern Daily Press'. Williamson collaborated with her as editor, adding notes and a commentary.

A first edition, first impression of this work, in original unclipped dustwrapper.A collaboration between Henry Williamson, author and social historian, and Lilias Rider Haggard, journalist and member of the Norfolk County Council. 'Norfolk Life' is based upon columns the latter wrote for the Eastern Daily Press. Busy with estate management and wartime work, Haggard was initially resistant to Williamson's suggestion of publishing her columns. He therefore recast newspaper clippings of her work into book form, and added an introduction, notes and a running commentary.Printed on wartime economy paper stock.With a former owner's inscription in ink to the front free endpaper, 'Haylie Bird'. In the publisher's original cloth binding with unclipped dustwrapper. Some fading to head and tail of front and rear boards, and spine. Light shelfwear to head and tail of spine.
