Two loose inserts advertising works published by Verlag Von Anton Schroll & Co. are laid in between pages 32 and 33. Faded and grubby boards with several surface scratches and some age-spotting. Leading edges of back board and rear endpaper have some liquid damage, and pages are a little warped in general. Spine is slightly cocked. Noticeable wear to spine and leading corners. Page block is quite grubby. Pages are a little sunned. Binding is sound and pages are tight throughout. Text and illustrations are clear. AF. Used.

Reproduced on a reduced scale from the original etchings in the British Museum. Text is in German. Considers the life and work of Italian landscape painter Canaletto (1697-1768). Includes a foreword and introductory essay as well as the catalog of annotations of the plates (organized by location). Also includes 9 pieces by Bernardo Bellotto. With a list of plates. The copy of The etchings of Canaletto (Antonio Canale, 1697-1768). Reproduced on a reduced scale from the original etchings in the British Museum contains the red/black decorative paper cover, title page, preface, list of plates (31), and 2 of the bw plates. The small cover would be lovely framed. Good, clean, tight contents; cover faded unevenly on spine & boards.
