SIGNED LIMITED EDITION in blue cloth with gilt titling on cover and spine, limited to 750 copies and signed on limitation page by the author, frontis. + 11 illus. (listed), intro. by Rufus Rockwell Wilson, index, 271pp. Very Good with darkened spine and light toning to page edges. Upshur was a descendant of Martha Washington, a cousin of both General and Mrs. Robert E. Lee, and son of Rear Admiral John H. Upshur. He writes here about his friends: Morgan, Rockefeller, Stillman, Carnegie, Schwab, Mellon, Frick, and the San Francisco Bonanza Kings. The book is dedicated to J. P. Morgan. Interesting reference about Alexander McKenzie (who controlled politics in the Dakotas at the time) regretting not being able to inform Custer of the impending doom at the Little Big Horn. He knew the Sioux and knew of their movements, but he contends U.S. Army troops prevented him from getting word to Custer. Signed.
