An early - and nearly continuous run - of the literary magazine associated with Joseph Friedman's writer's workshop in NYC. Friedman published the magazine from 1954-1960 before becoming an English literature professor at Long Island University. He taught there from 1965 until his retirement in 1984. Notable contributors to the magazine included Allen Ginsberg, John Ciardi, Kay Boyle, and Conrad Aiken. Included in this run are Vol. 1, Nos. 1-4; Vol. 2, Nos. 1-2, 4; Vol. 3, No. 3. Most in stapled wrappers (8 ½" x 5 ½"), various pagination. Some issues with soiling and wear, but a very good run.
