Condition: Fine. 1954 Lakeside Classic. 321 pages, including an index, plus a historical introduction by the renowned Historican, Dr. Milo Milton Quaife, plus the preface to the second edition, the preface to the French edition, and a reproduction of the 1854 title page. There is a tissue guarded frontispiece of a portrait of Gabriel Franchere and another tissue guarded frontispiece of a reproduction of the first page of Franchere's journal. The tissues are fully intact with no tears. The lettering on the spine is a sharp gilt and the Lakeside Press emblem on the front cover is also gilt and very sharp. The top of the pages are gilt. The volume itself is protected in an archival quality cover that is easily removed if desired. A very nice fine copy of this 1954 Lakeside one year after changes made in typography, paper and color of binding. Available for immediate shipment, carefully packed in a sturdy box.

Eight other illustrations also have tissue guards; all of which are in fine or better condition with no tears. The head and tail of the spine and some corners have the very slightest trace of wear. Interior pages are clean, fresh, tight and bright. The book itself is protected in an archival quality cover, which is easily removeable, if desired.
