An den Chemiker Carl Boedeker (1815 1895) in Bonn: Obwohl ich hoffe, daß Du, falls es Dir möglich ist und nicht süßere Pflichten Dich rheinwärts rufen, schon meinen früheren Bitten zufolge nicht versäumen wirst, die ehrwürdige Hauptstadt des Landes des Pumpernickel und Schinken zu Pfingsten mit Deinem Besuche zu beehren, so will ich mir wenigstens die Gewissensberuhigung verschaffen, meinerseits nichts versäumt zu haben, was Dich bestimmen könnte, u. wiederhole deshalb noch einmal meine Bitte, mich Pfingsten heimzusuchen. Was die Dich hier erwartenden naturwissenschaftlichen Genüsse betrifft, so weiß ich darüber nicht zu urtheilen, glaube aber, daß auch für den Fall, daß sich diese Genüsse auf ein [M]inimum reduziren sollten, sich wenigstens in unwissenschaftlicher Weise hier ein paar Tage mt Genuß todtschlagen lassen, so daß Du nach jeder Seite hin gedeckt erscheinst [.]". Julius Ficker Ritter von Feldhaus lehrte als Prof. der allgemeinen Geschichte in Innsbruck. Ficker, der sich mit mittelalterlicher Verfassungsgeschichte und Urkundenlehre beschäftigte, gehörte u. a. mit seinen Beiträgen zur Urkundenlehre (2 Bde., 1877/78) zu den Begründern der historischen Urkundenkritik. In der Auseinandersetzung mit Heinrich von Sybel über die Beurteilung der Kaiserzeit verteidigte er von katholisch-großdeutschem Standpunkt aus die Kaiserpolitik des Mittelalters (u. a. Deutsches Königthum und Kaiserthum , 1862). Ficker war der Vater von Ludwig, Heinrich und Rudolf von Ficker" (DBE). Mit einer kleinen, alt montierten Notiz zum Verfasser. Sprache: de.
