A handsome bookplate of a French-Australian bookseller/collector on the verso of the front wrapper, o/w fine in an added clear archival jacket for this copy. The account of the voyages of Dumont D'Urville (often called the French James Cook) was previously published by MUP in two hardcover volumes, and the translator, Rosenman has here retold those contents for a one volume edition, illustrated with b/w plates and maps.
