This copy is in MINT condition in a FINE brown papercovered robust slip case that has some very mild sunning to the open side. This Folio First Edition collects essays and extracts from Charles Dickens novels and non fiction which, along with George Cruikshankis illustrations, bring the colour and squalor of 19th century London to life. These fifteen etchings of Victorian tradesmen and street characters were taken from 'The Gentleman's Pocket Magazine' of 1827 and 1829. This book is beautifully bound in oatmeal linen covered boards with a charicature of a Beadle to the front and titling with gilt borders to the spine. The text is set inmonotype bell 11 point. The stock is bright and tight Size: 240pp.
