Este libro pretende ser un manual práctico de uso diario que aporte los elementos esenciales para documentar y tramitar con éxito una herencia que tenga algún componente internacional.En tiempos recientes han aparecido en el mercado numerosas obras relativas el Reglamento Europeo de Sucesiones 650/2012, que se aplica en nuestro país a las herencias abiertas a partir del 17 de agosto de 2015. No obstante, la normativa establecida por dicho Reglamento presenta dos importantes limitaciones: la primera, que está vigente sólo respecto de herencias causadas por ciudadanos de países miembros de la Unión Europea; y la segunda, que no contiene normas de Derecho interno, sino básicamente normas de Derecho internacional privado relativas a la determinación de la Ley aplicable en las diferentes cuestiones sucesorias y de la competencia internacional de Tribunales y otras Autoridades.El presente trabajo pretende ir algo más allá. Con un planteamiento eminentemente práctico, recoge una panorámica sintetizada de los principios que informan los diferentes sistemas sucesorios que más contacto habitual tienen con el tráfico jurídico español, de sus principales normas civiles en las diferentes fases del fenómeno sucesorio y de las particularidades más destacadas de cada uno de ellos, divididos para su estudio en las distintas familias jurídicas del mundo: la romano-germánica, la anglosajona, la de los países socialistas, la musulmana y la de los sistemas mixtos.
