Dust jacket slightly soiled and somewhat tattered, but most all there and not price-clipped. Maribelle Cormack [1902-1984] was a museum director and children's author. She attended Cornell University, the Universities of Vienna and Geneva, and Brown University. She is known for her interests in nature and astronomy and held a weekly nature story hour for children. She once served as assistant to Professor William P. Alexander at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Her papers now reside at the University of Oregon. William P. Alexander became a member of the Cornell University faculty in 1915 where he taught agriculture and assisted Professor Anna Botsford Comstock, a pioneer in the nature-study movement. In 1920 he moved to the Museum of Buffalo Society of Natural Science to take care of their tension work. In addition scientific books, Alexander authored several books together with Maribelle Cormack. Hilda Frommholtz was a well known illustrator, including of The Sleepy Time Stories.
