(Préface des auteurs) ---- "This book codified and published the lectures, doctrines and observations of Laurent Biett (1781/1840), the leading clinical teacher in dermatology of the early 19th century, who published very little himself. Cazenave was a master clinician who founded the first scientific periodical devoted exclusively to dermatology. The Abrégé improves upon Bateman, especially in the section on the cutaneous manifestations of syphilis. Continually revised and translated into all the important languages of the Western World, the Abrégé became the most influential text of the time and remained so for 30 years". (Garrison N° 3990 1st ed.) ---- "Cazenave's name is particularly associated with lupus erythematosus and with pemphigus foliaceux. Although the term lupus erythematosus was not used by Cazenave until the early 1850s, he and Schedel discuss the malady in some detail in their textbook. This edition includes 10 finely colored plates of various skin diseases". (Heirs of Hippocrates N° 1533 3rd ed.)**1131/c1+1127/cart7+1128/cart7+1129/cart3+1130/cart7.

Couverture rigide.
