Macmillan also used this binding design for "The King's Own" and "Japhet in Search of a Father" novels both also by Marryat. The Peacock pattern to the endpapers is also by A. A. Turbanye and is perhaps his most famous design as it was used fro Macmillan's publication of seveal of Jane Austen's works. Gilt to all edges. A little rubbed and soften to spine ends. Gilt decoration to the front is very clean and quite bright though a little rubbed. The rear board has some puckering to the cloth surface and a couple of ink splashes. Text is clean.
