Bosone da Gubbio is the author of this volume, an historical novel written in 1311 and published for the first time in Florence in 1832 by George Frederick Nott, an Anglican minister, numismatist, book-collector and antiquarian. Nott was fluent in Italian and it is said that he wrote the language with ease and accuracy.
