Illustrated with 77 FINE COLOURED CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS OF APPLES AND PEARS, plates complete. Plate 77 is bound in as the first plate in volume one. Plates lithographed by G. Severeyns the reknown Belgium chromolithographer. A both decorative and informative work. AN UNUSUALLY CLEAN COPY with all the protective flimsies in place. The work was initiated by the Woolhope Naturalists Field Club in order to - restore Herefordshire to its fruit growing supremacy. The plates are after drawing by Edith E. Bull, Alice B. Ellis and W. G. Smith (plate 1 only). The bibliography Great Flower Books describes it as - One of the finest fruit books ever issued. A classic of late Victorian natural history.
