From the personal library of James Strohn Copley, with his label and library identification inside. Mr. Copley was the owner of the San Diego Union Tribune. He had the interest and passion of an inspired collector/newspaper publisher who wanted the finest works available. Rown cloth on spine, gilt letters. 12 full-page color depictions first published in 1931 by the Automobile Club. Illustrations depict historical events including the founding of Los Angeles, the coming of the cattle, Fremont crossing the Sierras etc. Interpretive historical essays by Bolton; a ballad By John R. McCarthy. ; Color Illustrations; Oversized: 0.4 x 12.8 x 10.2 inches.
