Hardcover. Condition: Good. Berta & Elmer Hader (illustrators) (illustrator). Covers have heavy wear and soil. Back cover has heavy chipping where sticker partially removed. Corners and ends of spine rubbed. Binding tight. No writing. No page numbers. Stories become classics because they never get old. Chicken-Little spreading chaos because an acorn falls on her head and she thinks the sky is falling is no exception. In this story Chicken-Little sets off to tell the king and is joined by Henny-Penny, Cocky-Locky, Ducky-Lucky, Goosey-Possey and Turkey-Lurkey. In the little Half Chick a Chicken born with one half sets off to see the king. Along the way, he meets a brook, a fire and a wind in trouble because leaves and twigs are choking him. Little Half Chick refuses to help them. When he reaches the palace and is put into a pot of water for the king's dinner, the water, fire and wind refuse to help him. The cook finds he has burned and throws him out the window to become a weather vane on a steeple. Both stories are illustrated with color pictures. Size: 7.75 x 8.
