Book
Soft cover. Condition: Near Fine. B.T.B. And Nicolas Bentley (illustrator). Reprint. Pages have tanned. First published in 1940. These absurd and lively fables are classics of comic verse, and the drawings which illustrate them are as diverting as the episodes themselves. Hilaire Belloc keeps a straight face as he relates such moral tales as the one of Henry King who chewed bits of string, and he has invented for these preposterous narratives a pattern of rhyming jingles which is an essential part of the fun. This edition includes the original drawings by B.T.B. and Nicolas Bentley.
