Second work- Comic History of Rome, engraved title and 10 full page hand coloured plates by John Leech and numerous wood engravings in the text. Condition- bindings in good solid condition, internally with some toning and occasional spotting. A handsome set of these classic Victorian comic tales. Gilbert Abbott à Beckett (1811 1856) was an English humorist. He was one of the original staff of Punch and was an active journalist on The Times and The Morning Herald.
