One of several original binding variants, with no gilt illustration on lower front cover. Modest rubbing to spine extremities, rubbed with minor exposure to corners. Light surface rubbing to covers, crease to lower back cover. Former owner's signature on front flyleaf. xxvi,604 pp., illus. w/ b&w plates. Mild bottom corner crease to the first several leaves, mild soiling to endpapers and a few leaves, interior generally clean and bright, with firm binding. Gilt spine lettering a bit dulled. Wear commensurate with age, still a solid copy. Size: 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall. Book.
