Der Brief an einen namentlich nicht genannten Adressaten, wohl die Schlesinger sche Buch- und Musikalienhandlung in Berlin, mit der Anfrage, ob dieser seinen Triumphmarsch für das Pianoforte" verlegen wolle (13. IV. 1864); das undatierte Schriftstück mit der Mitteilung, daß seine Toccata und Fuge für das Pianoforte einer Frau Director Ribbeck zu dedizieren sei: Der Vorname der Frau Director Ribbeck ist: Auguste demnach Italienisch: Augusta". August Wilhelm Bach studierte Orgel bei Karl Zelter, Ludwig Berger und Karl Wilhelm Henning und wurde später Organist an St. Gertraud und an der Marienkirche in Berlin. 1822 berief ihn Zelter als Lehrer an das neugegründete Königliche Institut für Kirchenmusik; 1832 wurde Bach dessen Nachfolger als Direktor. Er lehrte auch an der Berliner Akademie der Künste und war Orgelsachverständiger im preußischen Kultusministerium. 1858 erfolgte seine Ernennung zum Professor" (DBE). Zu Bachs Werk zählen überwiegend Kirchenmusik und Klavierstücke; sein Choralbuch für das Gesangbuch zum gottesdienstlichen Gebrauch für evangelische Gemeinden" (1830) war damals weit verbreitet; zu seinen Orgelschülern zählte u. a. Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Beide Bll. mit Faltspuren; der Brief mit kleinem Vermerk zum Verfasser a. d. Verso-Seite.

An einen namentlich nicht genannten Adressaten: "In der Hoffnung dass es vielleicht von einigem Nutzen seyn dürfte wenn ich diejenigen Bemerkungen welche ich während meines Aufenthaltes in Breslau über den dortigen Zustand der Musik gemacht schriftlich mittheilte, so fand ich Gelegenheit in den zehn Tagen welche ich dort verweilte, folgende Erfahrungen in obiger Hinsicht zu machen. In Breslau angekommen ging ich zuerst in das königl. evangelische Seminar, um Herrn Hientsch, den ich von Berlin her kannte, wieder zu sehen. Er machte mich mit dem Äußerlichen der Anstalt gleich etwas bekannt. Auch probierte ich die Orgel, welche aber leider nur ein Manual hat und gar nicht von dem Umfange, von welchem ein solches Instrument für eine solche Anstalt billig seyn sollte. Auch ist eine Orgel für eine solche Anstalt, wo 80 und wohl noch mehr junge Leute sich zu Organisten bilden sollen, gar nicht ausreichend. Es ist daher höchst preiswürdig, dass ein hohes Ministerium dem Katholischen Seminario eine zweite Orgel bewilligt hat.
