Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm stereo vinyl record, Disneyland Records 1362, near-mint vinyl in a near-mint cardboard jacket, featuring "Special Songs by Annette" and "Song from the Exciting Triple R Ranch Adventures of Spin & Marty." The time warp created by "reruns" is clearly at work here: although this record is a 1974-75 release, photo of Spin & Marty to jacket verso clearly depicts stars Tim Considine (born 1940) and David Stollery at their ages when the 25, eleven-minute episodes and the two sequels ("Further Adventures" and "New Adventures" -- all based on the 1942 novel "Marty Markham" by Lawrence Edward Watkin) were being filmed in 1955-1957, and Annette Funicello (born 1942) is also depicted here as an adolescent. ("Spin & Marty" continued airing in reruns on the Disney Channel as late as Sept. 9, 2002, when the folks now in charge of the Disney empire presumably dumped them, having figured out the boys were not gay, or even "transgendered," and therefore of no further use.) Reduced from $32.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm "mono" vinyl rock 'n roll soundtrack record album, Wand 671, very-good vinyl in a process color jacket which grades "very-good" to "very-good-plus" with a few tape ghosts. All songs credited to Guy Hemric & Jerry Styner save the Kingsmen's "Give Her Lovin'," which is credited to Lynn Easton -- this being at variance from every other Beach Party movie, all of which featured scores by Exotica veteran Les Baxter -- unless you count 1967's "Thunder Alley" -- music by Mike Curb. This would be the soundtrack to Nicholson & Arkoff's fifth "Beach Party" movie, following that almost equal high spot in '60s American culture, "Beach Blanket Bingo," the genre proudly "combining familiar young faces" (that would be the dutiful Annette; Frankie appears here only in the brief Polynesian "set-up" scene) and "veteran Hollywood comedy stars to make a new mixture of entertainment for every age group" -- though Mickey Rooney and an oddly cast Buster Keaton as "the witch doctor" aren't exactly Vincent Price, Petter Lorre, or Boris Karloff, now are they? Soundtrack, movie tie-in LP, here reduced from $12.

Two original film still photographs from the 1959 US film, here under the French title, "Quelle vie de chien!" Shaggy appears in both photos, starring teen actors Tommy Kirk and Tim Considine in one. French title on the versos in manuscript ink, numerical notation on the versos in manuscript pencil. Immensely popular fantasy film based on Salten's "The Hound of Florence" (1923), released in France in December 1959. Inspiration for the sequel "The Shaggy D.A." (1976), two-part television movie "The Return of the Shaggy Dog" (1987), remakes (1994, 2006), and was the most profitable release from Walt Disney Productions to date. Wilby (Kirk) is a misunderstood teen with an inventive imagination his father, Wilson, grapples to understand. After a trip to a history museum, Wilby mistakenly absconds with the cursed ancient ring of Borgia, and obliviously reads the inscription that turns him into a "big, baggy, stupid-looking shaggy dog." As a dog, Wilby overhears secret government spy operations, drives a hot rod, saves a drowning girl, and attacks his nemesis Buzz (Considine). His valiant efforts transform him back to human just as he and Buzz come to realize it's better to be friends. 4.75 x 6.75 inches, with small white borders at the bottom. Slight curling, else Near Fine.
